Guide options
Stainless steel frame.
Alconite insert, €0 (standard).

The building standard of Ramon’s Rods and add no surcharge to the base price of a rod.
These are very high performing guides for freshwater, carp and fly rods.
Can be used for saltwater rods but I recommend going for sic or titanium on dedicated saltwater builds.
Stainless steel frame.
SIC insert, €40-130.

A step up from the alconite inserts.
5x better thermal conductivity, almost twice as hard as alconite and a higher bending strength compared to Alconite.
Very capable of handling long runs with high drag pressures and braid in saltwater.
Prices vary due to number of guides added to a build and their size.
Titanium Polished/T2 frame.
Torzite insert, €75-350.
Torzite is Fuji’s answer to the ultimate guide.
Smoother and tougher than SiC, with better fracture resistance, higher polish and in a narrower ring that is up to 30% lighter than SiC.
To add to the upgrade of the insert, the titanium frames are 30 to 55% lighter than the stainless steel counter parts depending on shape and size and they will never corrode.
Prices vary due to number of guides added to a build and their size.
Titanium frame (Colored).
Torzite insert, €125-400.
If you want a very specific color for your guides, that’s no problem!
Everything that makes Torzite guides unbeatable, but now customised to the color of your liking.
Thanks to in-house titanium anodisation, you can get your next custom rod with guides in practically any shade/color.
Prices vary due to number of guides added to a build and their size.
Other customisation options:
Blank customisation.
Prices vary, €50-250.
Blanks come standard in all kinds of ways, but if you don’t like the factory finish or just want something truely unique, we can always go the custom route.
Examples:
Raw carbon (no finish, polished to 1000 grit), Transparant high gloss finish, transparant colored high gloss finish, solid colors, metallic finish, candy paint with a high gloss finish, colorshift pigment with a high glossy finish.
If you want a custom finish that isn’t listed above, feel free to send an email with your idea and I will tell you if it would be feasible.
Abalone.
Prices vary, €25-150.
The iridescent part of a abalone shell. Available in many colors, type of structures and always has a unique pattern!
It can be placed into/onto different parts of the rod for decorative purposes. Example:
Inside of the buttcap, between splitgrips, above the foregrip/reelseat or even between the guide feet as part of a decorative underwrap.
Prices vary depending on size, placement and type of abalone.
Decorative wraps.
Prices vary, €25-300+
Decorative wraps are loads of threads weaved/layed down in a certain way to create a colorful pattern. Usually placed between a splitgrip or above the reelseat.
On my pictures you can see 2 decorative wraps in a “barberpole” pattern but there are 100’s of patterns to choose from.
Depending on complexity a decorative wrap can take anywhere from a few minutes to many hours, hence the price variability.
Precious metals/stones.
Prices vary, email for a quote.
A custom rod on a high-end jewellery level.
Example: A solid gold plate fitted in between a splitgrip of a rod as you can see on the picture above.
Diamond or other gemstones encrusted into a buttcap, plate or ring onto a rod are all things that are in the realm of possibilities.
I’ve worked with gold smiths/jewellers on some projects in the past and because of them the most incredible ideas can come to life.
If you are interested in something of this nature, send me an email with your idea and we will schedule a call/visit to discuss in more detail.
